Bullpup Volleyball Coach Doile Achieves 600th Win, Two Players Reach 1000 Kills

McPHERSON, Kan. – McPherson’s runner-up performance at the McPherson Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 11 saw multiple milestones.

McPherson went 4-1 in the tournament, losing only to Bishop Carroll in the championship match. CLICK HERE for the recap.

Head Coach Christy Doile reached her 600th career win in their win against Garden Plain in pool play. Doile is in her 20th season as the Head Volleyball Coach at McPherson High School. She now has a career record of 601-227, a win percentage of 72.6%.

A pair of players also earned career milestones. Senior MH Brooke Doile and Senior OH Ava Romero each earned 1000 career kills.

Brooke Doile, daughter of head coach Christy, is a four-year starter who was named an All-League honoree all three years, earning Second Team honors as a freshman and First Team her sophomore and junior years. She was also named an All-State honoree her junior year after being named an All-State Honorable Mention her sophomore season.

Romero has also been a four-year player for the Bullpups. She was named an All-League Honorable Mention her freshman year, but bumped up to First Team All-League her sophomore and junior seasons. Her sophomore season also landed her a Second Team All-State mention.

The Bullpups are 28-5 so far in the 2025 season, with just four games remaining before the postseason.
