McPherson County HS Volleyball Teams Start Hot Streaks to Begin First Full Week of October

McPherson County high schools took part in volleyball action on Tuesday, Oct. 7 to highlight a busy first week of October.

MCPHERSON

The McPherson Bullpups were in action in El Dorado for a triangular, along with Circle. The Bullpups won both matches while one senior had a major career milestone. CLICK HERE to read the full recap.

SMOKY VALLEY

The Smoky Valley Vikings traveled to Haven for a triangular with Hillsboro. The Vikings won the first matchup against Haven in two sets (25-19, 25-21). However, they lost in a close battle against state contender Hillsboro in two sets (22-25, 23-25).

The Vikings are now 11-20 on the season. They will travel to Clay Center for a triangular on Thursday, Oct. 9.

ELYRIA CHRISTIAN

Elyria Christian School had a triangular in Peabody-Burns on Tuesday, along with Centre. The Eagles fought hard to earn a pair of wins, defeating Peabody-Burns in two sets (25-20, 25-18) and Centre in a two-set sweep as well (25-10, 25-17).

Elyria Christian is now 13-16, but they have won three games in a row, and five of their last six.

CANTON-GALVA

The Canton-Galva Eagles also earned a pair of wins, doing so in the Solomon Triangular with Wakefield. Canton-Galva earned big two-set wins, defeating Solomon 25-10 & 25-14, before sweeping Wakefield 25-9 & 25-11.

Canton-Galva is now 15-12 on the season, looking to spark a hot streak after winning three of their last four games.

INMAN

The Inman Teutons are on a hot streak as well, winning both matches in Tuesday’s modified quad in Moundridge. Inman swept Wichita-Central Christian (25-16, 25-18) and Whitewater-Remington (25-15, 25-14).

Inman has won five of their last six games, including four in a row. They are 20-12 on the season.

MOUNDRIDGE

The Moundridge Wildcats were also part of Tuesday’s modified quad, defeating the same two schools. The Wildcats, who enter as one of the frontrunners to win state in 2A, swept Whitewater-Remington 25-14 & 25-11 before sweeping Wichita-Central Christian 25-22 & 25-19.

Moundridge is now 30-2 on the season. They will host Sterling on Thursday, Oct. 9.
