The Halstead High School volleyball team lost to Little River 25-14, 23-25, 25-18 in the championship match of the Canton-Galva Tournament Saturday in Canton.
The Halstead Dragons defeated Inman 25-23, 25-13 in the semifinals.
Halstead posted a 3-0 record in pool play. The Dragons defeated Marion 25-17, 25-12, Goessel 25-18, 25-18 and Ingalls 25-16, 25-18.
Inman won the third-place match 25-15, 15-17 over Goessel.
In pool play, the Teutons lost to Little River 18-15, 25-23, 25-23, defeated Wichita Homeschool 25-17, 25-23 and beat Canton-Galva 25-11, 25-17.
The tournament featured four ranked teams: Little River is ranked No. 1 in Kansas Class 1A Division II, Halstead is No. 3 in Class 3A, Ingalls is ranked No. 1 in Class 1A Division II and Goessel is ranked No. 7 in Class 1A Division II.
Inman was ranked No. 3 in Class 2A in the Kansas Volleyball Association preseason poll.
