The top-ranked Southeast of Saline Trojans used a strong running attack, and an efficient passing game to get the Class 2A, District 6 win over Lyons, 73-7.
Senior quarterback Gannon Jacobson threw for 3 touchdowns and also had 72 yards rushing on four carries, running for 1 TD. Senior running back Grady Gebhardt only carried the ball four times but scored on three of those carries, all in the first quarter, to give SES
their first 3 scores.
SES gained a total of 339 yards on 35 rushing attempts and completed 11 passes for 140 yards. SES had nine players rush the ball and seven players with receptions.
Lyons QB David Pando completed nine passes for 31 yards. Tegan Link had four receptions to lead the Lyons receivers. Link had the only Lions score on an 85-yard fumble created by Hendrix Starbuck.
Yurem Ordonez had 11 yards on six carries to lead all Lyons rushers.
Southeast of Saline moves to 5-0 overall and 1-0 in district play. The Trojans extend their winning streak to 18 games, and 28-1 over the
past three seasons. SES will travel to Hillsboro for a District 6 game. Lyons falls to 0-5 and 0-2 in District 6 action.
Lyons steps out of district play to face Nickerson next Friday
