Sterling Offense Has Another Big Night

STERLING – The Sterling Black Bears improved to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in District 7 Friday night, rolling past Medicine Lodge 47–10 behind the push of their offensive line — Kevin Ploutz, Cale Thomas, Cameron Morris, Derek Krone, Cody Schweizer, and tight end Tucker Haas.

Behind that line, senior Zane Farney scored five touchdowns, including runs of 52, 44, 25, and 12 yards, giving him 20 TDs on the season. Jace Darnauer added an 11-yard score, while Wyatt Newberry returned a kickoff 75 yards for a touchdown to start the second half.

Medicine Lodge (2-3, 1-1) broke through late with a 20-yard touchdown pass from Jack Shreiner to Mavrik Inslee. The Indians will host South Sumner County next Friday, while Sterling will travel to Conway Springs.
