Buhler placed second and Hutchinson placed sixth at the nine-hole Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League junior varsity meet Thursday at Cheney’s Cherry Oaks Golf Course.
Wellington won the tournament title with a 205 score, followed by Buhler 210, Augusta 234, McPherson 238, Goddard-Eisenhower 270 and Hutchinson 274.
First-place medalist honors went to Wellington’s Ava Bales, who fired a 7-over-par 43.
Buhler placed six golfers in the top 15, led by a second-place individual-medal performance by Ellie Goering, who defeated Wellington’s Haley Gulick in a playoff for second place after both fired 47s.
Buhler’s Jessa Losew, who attends Hutchinson Central Christian, placed fourth with a 52. Teammate Gracin Bergmeier placed eighth, 55; Kylie Gregg, 11th, 56; Ashlyn Bounds, 12th, 57; and Avery Moore, 15th, 59.
Hutchinson’s top golfer was Kierah Sterling, who placed 27th with a 66, followed by Khloee Smith, 29th, 67; Tai Smith, 30th, 70; McKenzie Algrim, 31st, 71; Ashley Estrada, 32nd, 73; and Skylar Kip, 33rd, 73.
