WICHITA — A turnover on downs didn’t affect Andale after its first drive at Wichita Collegiate on Friday night.
Three plays later, the Spartans fumbled the ball and the Indians went right to work in a 54-7 victory to extend their winning streak to 17.
Jrayton Dansel gave Andale the lead for good with an 8-yard touchdown run and made it 16-0 with a 26-yard touchdown run. On the first play of the second quarter, Sam Harp scored on a 42-yard run. Not even 90 seconds later after a Collegiate turnover, Noah Stanley made it 32-0 with a 17-yard touchdown run. Harp found Hunter Grimes for a 26-yard touchdown reception with 2:33 to go in the first half.
Andale triggered a running clock with 7:13 left in the third quarter with Harp scoring from 1 yard out. Collegiate avoided the shutout with a 9-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter from Drake Manspeaker. With second stringers in for the Indians, Toben Easter capped off the scoring with a 1-yard touchdown run.
The Indians recorded 396 yards of total offense and held Collegiate to 142 yards and forced five turnovers. Harp led a balanced rushing attack with 13 carries for 117 yards and two touchdowns. Andale (4-0, 4-0 AVCTL-IV) opens up district play at Nickerson next Friday. The Midway Motors Drive to the Game begins at 6:30 p.m. on Andale Radio, adastraradio.com, Ad Astra Radio App and on Ad Astra TV.
