The Nickerson High School volleyball team defeated Kingman 25-23, 25-20 and lost to St. John 25-18, 25-20 Thursday night at Kingman.
Kingman played St. John in the final match of the triangular. No score was available.
Nickerson coach Trish Wade is the former volleyball coach at St. John. She coached the Tigers to 420 wins and three Class 1A state titles in 17 years.
Nickerson (5-12) will play Halstead and Hillsboro Tuesday at Hillsboro.
The Panthers compete on Sept. 27 in the Cheney Varsity Tournament and Pratt JV/C Team Tournament.
