McPHERSON, Kan. — Ad Astra Radio is proud to announce this week’s Athlete of the Week as McPherson High School senior Maryn Sandbo!
The week – Sandbo finished in third place in the No. 1 singles division on Aug. 28 in a loaded field at the Hesston Invitational. After a first-round win, Sandbo dropped a semifinal match to Hith Gangnala from Wichita Collegiate, but Sandbo bounced back nicely with a win over Hesston’s Aubrey Koehn in the third-place match.
The season – Sandbo has started her senior year well after a strong junior season. Last year, Sando finished in third place in Class 4A singles, helping McPherson to a state runner-up finish.
