McPHERSON, Kan. – McPherson High School continued their Boys Soccer and Cross Country seasons over the weekend.
BOYS SOCCER
The Bullpup Boys Soccer team finished the Maize South Invitational on Saturday, falling to Andover 3-0 in the 5th Place game. Goalkeeper Gabe Standfast had 17 saves on the game, only conceding two of the three goals.
McPherson is now 1-2 to start the season, but has a quick turnaround Monday, Sept. 15 at Wichita-Classical.
CROSS COUNTRY
The McPherson Cross Country teams competed in Wamego on Saturday. The Boys Varsity team finished 5th as a team, but Caleb Muehler finished as the individual champion with 16:06. Kayden Friesen finished 22nd and Tripp Pelzel in 31st, each earning medals.
The Girls Varsity team finished 11th in the competition. Their top runners just missed out on medaling as Adeline Kramer and Kamryn Prescott finished 41st & 42nd. Reesa Whorton finished behind them in 49th.
