Busy Saturday for Buhler Cross Country at Wamego Invitational

Buhler placed eighth in the 4A varsity boys division with 237 points, fourth in the JV girls division with 131 points and seventh in the 4A varsity girls division with 175 points Saturday at the Wamego Invitational.

The meet took place at the Wamego Country Club, where the Kansas Class 4A, 3A, 2A and 1A state cross country championships take place on Nov. 1.

The Buhler varsity boys were led by Ryan Cherry, who placed 13th with a time of 17:27.61, followed by Gavin Lindahl, 27th, 18:01.31; Samuel Hougham, 63rd, 19:31.65; Ben Gazaway, 67th, 19:35.67; Cole Unruh, 80th, 20:01.48; and Noah Napier, 112th, 21:14.26.

The Crusader JV boys were led by Silas Nowlan and Graham McCarty, who placed 23rd and 24th with times of 21:26.24 and 21:29.57.

Logan Johnson placed 32nd, 21:50.74; Charles McComas, 62nd, 23:06.41; Landes Little, 64th, 23:10.85; Tristan Black, 86th, 24:32.04; Joseph Andujo, 117th, 27:33.75; and Kaenai Chapman, 118th, 27:38.38.

Corbin Starkweather and Isabella Friesen placed sixth and eighth in the varsity girls 5K division with times of 20:29.82 and 20:37.29.

Brynlee Adams placed 55th, 22:51.7; Isabella Rivera, 66th, 23:19.78; Emma Smith, 69th, 23:28.94; Hannah Dick, 72nd, 23:44.15; and Haylee Kinast, 74th, 23:50.87.

Aneesa Courson led the Buhler girls with an 18th-place finish in 25:37.45, followed by Khloe Blackwell, 25th, 26:33.07; Allison Johnson, 31st, 26:51.33; Kinsley Combs, 40th, 27:24.79; Hannah Khan, 59th, 28:55.87; Marley Harnett, 67th, 29:27.6; Harleigh Board, 83rd, 31:24.66; and Jacey Combs, 99th, 34:28.01.
