GREAT BEND, Kan. — Barton County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a fatal hit and run Wednesday night as a possible homicide.
Deputies responded at 6:42 PM to the 100 block of Chisholm Trail, just outside the southeast corner of the Great Bend City limits. First arriving officers began performing life-saving measures on the man, identified as 58-year-old Curtis Scott Crefgfer, who lived in that area. He was later taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Barton County Sheriff Brian Bellindir (BELL-in-dur) said investigation at the scene and witness statements indicate the possibility this may have been an intentional act. They are currently looking for a late 1990’s or early 2000’s model smaller extended cab pickup, dark in color, that might have front end damage.
