HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Allen Community College livestock judging team traveled to the Kansas State Fair on Saturday, Sept. 6, to participate in a practice workout alongside collegiate teams from Butler, Fort Scott, Hutchinson, and Kansas State University.
The Allen team evaluated six classes of pigs and sheep during the evening session, gaining valuable experience in preparation for upcoming competitions.
“This event gave our students a great opportunity to sharpen their skills in a competitive environment,” said Rhett Taylor, ACC livestock judging coach. “Working alongside other college teams helps them build confidence and see where they stand heading into the fall season.”
