McPHERSON, Kan. – The McPherson High School Volleyball team did not lose a set in their triangular league matches against Mulvane and Buhler, while also raising money for childhood cancer awareness on Tuesday, Sept. 9.
The varsity matches were held at Holman Fieldhouse on the McPherson College campus, and the JV matches were held in the auxiliary gym at McPherson High School. While volleyball was on the mind, the focus was on raising money and supporting Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. The freshman team worked tables at the games, selling awareness t-shirts and raising money for Women and Children Combating Cancer (WACCC).
The Bullpup varsity team won both of their matches in two sets. The day began with a match against Mulvane, in which McPherson won 25-14, 25-11. They followed up with a two-set victory against Buhler, 25-10, 25-19. Brooke Doile led with 19 kills on the day and Riley Whitfield finished with 44 assists.
McPherson is now 7-3 on the season. They will now prepare for a triangular in Augusta on Tuesday, September 16.
