The Nickerson High School boys and girls cross country teams opened the season at the Pretty Prairie Invitational Thursday at the Pretty Prairie golf course also known as “The Links.”
Nickerson’s Jaycie Ohnmact placed third, Amelia Peil finished fourth and Bella Brinkley placed fifth in the girls race.
On the boys side, Aiden Brinkley placed fourth and Andy Huggard placed eighth.
The Panthers boys and girls cross country teams will compete at the Pratt-Skyline meet at 10 a.m. on Sept. 13.
