MULVANE, Kan. – McPherson High School Volleyball traveled to Mulvane Tuesday, Sep. 2, for a triangular against Mulvane and Andale, falling in both matches.
The Bullpups first faced the host school, the Mulvane Wildcats. They fell in a close first set 23-25, but took set two 25-16 to force a third set. Mulvane stormed back in a thriller to take the set and the match, 25-23.
They then followed up with a match against Andale. The Pups fell 25-15 in set one, but played stronger in set two. However, the Indians took the second set 29-27.
Brooke Doile led with 17 kills and 15 digs in the pair of matches. Rylie Whitfield added 44 assists and 10 digs. Ava Romero had a team-high five service aces, adding 13 kills and 13 digs.
The Bullpups are 5-3 in the young season. They will play a home triangular on Tuesday, Sept. 9, against Buhler & Mulvane. The varsity matches will be played at Holman Fieldhouse on the McPherson College campus, due to ongoing repairs to the Roundhouse floor.
