The 2025 Hutchinson High School girls golf team returns no experienced golfers from the 2024 squad that placed second at regionals and had Ava Burlie tie for 23rd place at the Class 5A state tournament.
“The bad news is that all four of my varsity golfers graduated in May,” said Hutchinson golf coach Charlie Pierce. “So we have a brand new team with zero varsity experience. The rest are new to golf. Coach (Leann) Gleason and I have a lot of work to do in the next six weeks.”
The Hutchinson roster features seniors Bria Carlton and Hannnah Marcus, five juniors (Naddilyn Wellington is the only one has played before) and nine sophomores (Renna Ehling, Audryee Soule and Karely Gonzales played some JV last year).
The Salthawks also have three freshmen. Jade Brislin has played some golf before.
The Salthawk girls golf team opens the season Sept. 2 at the Mulvane Tournament. The tournament will take place at the Derby Golf and Country Club. The meet starts at 3 p.m.
