FORT SCOTT, Kan. — The Fort Scott Fire Department has announced their 2nd annual 9/11 memorial stair climb will take place Saturday, Sept. 6 at Fort School High School Football Stadium.
Registration opens at 8 with the event to start at 9, with options for a stair climb, 5k, or walk. During the event, there will be a reading of the names of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack victims.
Participants also have the option of wearing fire gear as part of the event, proceeds from which will go towards scholarships for local students wishing to pursue a fire service career and to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.
