WICHITA, Kan. – The National Baseball Congress (NBC) announced that the start times have changed for the opening day of the NBC World Series Thursday, July 24.
The first game between the Dodge City A’s and Seattle Cheney Studs will now be at 11:00 a.m. The following game between the Seattle Blackfins and Hays Larks will now play at 2:00 p.m. The two games were originally schedule for 6:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. The games will still be played at Eck Stadium at Wichita State University and all previously purchased tickets remain valid. The gates will open at 10:00 a.m.
The NBC cites the time changes due to forecasted storms and inclement weather. According to the National Weather Service, there is a likely chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4:00 p.m., but the higher chances are mainly between 7:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m. Friday. The NBC moved the times up to ensure player safety and to provide the best possible experience for fans.
