CLEVELAND, Ohio (KJCCC.org) – Three Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference schools have finished in the top 15 of the 2024-25 Ron Case Cup presented by Daktronics Scholarship Division, recognizing overall program excellence in two-year colleges.
The competition, which is organized by the National Alliance of Two-Year College Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA), saw Barton Community College finish as the highest-KJCCC school with a fourth-place finish after securing 163 total points, followed by eighth-place Cowley College (129.5 points) and 13th-place Hutchinson Community College (97.5 points). Two other KJCCC schools also finished in the top-30 of the scholarship division, with Johnson County Community College placing 17th overall (80.5 points) and Butler Community College placing 26th overall (62.5 points).
Colleges in each division are allowed to use their top five finishes per gender at their highest level of competition to earn points for the Ron Case Cup presented by Daktronics. The champions of each competition score 20 points, second place scores 19, third place 18, etc.
This is the seventh year that Daktronics has sponsored this award in conjunction with NATYCAA. The award was renamed during the 2024-25 season to the Ron Case Cup in honor of former NATYCAA president Ron Case (1999-2000), who served as Director of Athletics at Rowan College at Gloucester County for 25 years and stewarded the Cup program from its inception in 2004 through June 2024.
