WICHITA, Kan. – It was a successful weekend for multiple athletes from the Larned/Golden Belt area of Ad Astra Radio at the KSHSAA State Track & Field Championships.  Ellinwood Freshman Reagan Wirtz stole the show, though, capping her maiden high school voyage with three state titles individually and another medal as part of the 4x400m relay team.

Wirtz started her weekend by qualifying for the finals in the 100m and 200m dashes on Friday in Class 2A.  She opened Saturday morning with a gold medal in the long jump at 18’1” and then shortly thereafter, she won the 100m dash championship in a time of 12.24.  She saved her best individual performance for last, running a meet record 24.98 in the 200m dash finals to secure the 2A title.  To close out the day Saturday, she joined Jenna Borror, Ayla Ritchie and Eleanor Joiner in getting the fifth place medal in the 4x400m relay.

Also from the area, Great Bend’s Cooper Ohnmacht repeated as the 5A boys triple jump champion with a mark of 47’1 ¼”.  Kaylee Hagerman of Larned added a state title in the 3A girls long jump with a jump of 18’4 ½”.

In all, 32 events brought home state medals from the Larned/Golden Belt area.  A full look at the results can be found below from MileSplit and with an area rundown of all Ad Astra Radio schools.
