HAVEN, Kan. — Ad Astra Radio is proud to introduce this week’s Athlete of the Week Jake Moore, Haven High School senior on the wrestling team.
The week – Moore continued his dominant season by winning the Class 3-2-1A regional at Hoisington. After receiving a first-round bye, Moore dominated his next two matches. He first beat Moundridge’s Daniel Kuder with a first-period pin, and then he beat Russell’s Dakota Sullivan 21-5 in the semifinals. Moore didn’t have to wrestle in the championship match, as Ellis’ Asher Hasg took a medical forfeit.
The season – Moore has had a strong senior year. After winning regionals, he improved to 33-2 and 137-25 overall during his high school career. He heads to the state tournament as one of the top four seeds, and he will open the state tournament in Hays against Hillsboro’s Ryan Budig.
