Salthawk Sports Roundup: Girls Basketball Rolls Past Dodge City

The Hutchinson High girls basketball team snapped a two-game skid on Thursday in the first-round of a midseason tournament in McPherson.

The Salthawks took down Dodge City 45-27 and advanced to the semifinals at 6:10 Friday against Olathe South.

The Salthawks improved to 6-3.

Boys basketball – The Salthawks continued a rugged stretch Tuesday at the Salthawk Activity Center in a 69-54 loss to Derby.

This came on the heels of going 0-3 at the midseason tournament in McPherson.

Terrell King led Hutchinson with 16 points, and Lamar Govain added 14.

Hutch fell to 4-6 and has lost five in a row.

Boys swimming – The Salthawks finished fifth during a Tuesday meet at the Hutchinson Family YMCA, scoring 219.

The Salthawks were led by Logan Most, who finished second in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:40.84.
