ANDALE, Kan. — Congratulations to Ad Astra Radio’s Athlete of the Week (12/01-12/07), Sam Harp, Andale High School senior!
The week: Harp had another monster performance in the Class 3A state championship game, as Andale won its fifth state championship in six years, beating Topeka Hayden 36-19 at Gowans Stadium in Hutchinson. Harp, the Indians’ quarterback, rushed ran the ball 16 times for a game-high 163 yards and two touchdowns. Harp also completed two passes for 55 yards, and he had a two-point conversion run.
The season: Harp, a senior, finished the season with 1,057 yards and 21 touchdowns, leading Andale’s potent rushing attack. Harp also completed 35 of 54 passes for 813 yards and 13 touchdowns with no interceptions. Andale finished the season 13-0.
