McPHERSON, Kan. (MacBulldogs.com) — The 2024 rendition of the Bulldog Athletics Hall of Fame Banquet is scheduled for Friday evening (Oct. 18) at The Cedars.
Four former Bulldog greats will be honored as Vyacheslav Bukatin, Scott Jones, Shelton Thigpen, and Andrew Skinner all take their place into the McPherson College Athletics Hall of Fame.
Bukatin (Class of 2013) was a four-time All-KCAC selection, and the 2011 KCAC Men’s Tennis Player of the Year as a sophomore. During his player of the year campaign, Bukatin finished with a perfect 6-0 mark in conference play, and was 9-1 overall.
Jones (Class of 2010) played three seasons on the gridiron for McPherson College and was the 2010 KCAC Defensive Player of the Year. He had 17 career sacks, and holds the school-record with nine-career fumble recoveries. Jones was a two-time First Team All-KCAC selection.
Thigpen (Class of 2011) was a four-year football star for the Bulldogs, and was a two-time First Team All-KCAC player as well as an NAIA All-America Honorable Mention in 2009. During his All-America season, Thigpen finished with six interceptions and 42 total tackles.
Skinner (Class of 2012) was another key piece to the Bulldogs’ football success between 2009-2011. He was a First Team All-KCAC selection in 2010, as well as an All-KCAC honorable mention in 2009. Skinner still holds the school-record for career receiving touchdowns (34) and career receiving yards (3,063).
The banquet will take place on Friday evening (Oct. 18) at 6:00 p.m. at The Cedars. Admission is open to the public, and tickets are $10.
