LYONS Kan. — Ad Astra Radio is recognizing outstanding athletes from high schools we cover.
The Athlete of the Week for 9/22-9/28 is Lyons High School senior quarterback Ethan Luck.
The week: Luck was on Lyons’ side as the Lions and Luck had a strong game in leading the Lions to their first win of the season, 21-20 over Republic County. Luck completed 8 of 16 passes for 107 yards, and he also ran seven times for 54 yards and two touchdowns, which measured 17 and 3 yards. Defensively, Luck collected six tackles.
The season: Luck, a senior quarterback, has completed 20 of 39 passes for 362 yards and two touchdowns for the 1-2 Lions. He has added 125 rushing yards, and on defense, has 20 tackles. Lyons will next play Friday against Ellsworth.
