McPHERSON, Kan. – The McPherson High School Softball team finished with a successful 23-5 season, including a perfect 10-0 record against divisional opponents, good enough for the Bullpups to earn five All-State honorees.
Addison Chapman earned first-team honors as a utility player/designated player after finishing with a team highs in batting average (.570), home runs (10), RBI’s (43), and runs scored (48). Chapman also had 10 pitching starts, finishing 7-3 including two no-hitters, a 3.65 ERA, and a team-high 85 strikeouts. Haely Hagemann also earned first-team honors as an infielder after finishing with a .489 batting average, including 9 home runs and 42 RBI’s.
Addie Herrera, Karter Alvord, and Alex Romero each earned second-team All-State honors. Herrera earned honors as a pitcher, starting 11 games and finishing with a 9-0 record, a 3.70 ERA, and 34 strikeouts. Alvord earned the honor as an infielder, hitting .506 with 3 home runs and 35 RBI’s. Romero earned the award as an outfielder, finishing the season with a .412 batting average, 1 HR and 11 RBI’s.
