Lyons scored three second-half touchdowns to overcome a 14-point halftime deficit to defeat Republic County on Friday, 22-14.
Zander Young scored two touchdowns on runs of 2 yards and 40 yards. Quanick Hamilton scored the final TD on a 20-yard run to seal the win for Lyons.
After allowing two early second-quarter Republic County touchdowns, the Lyons defense stiffened to hold the Buffaloes scoreless the remainder of the game. Lyons forced two turnovers in the second half that were instrumental in the win. Lyons will host Southeast of Saline in their first home game next Friday.
