1937-2026
Vincent “Toby” Charles Davis, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, devotion, and cherished memories. Born on August 2, 1937, in Larned, Kansas, Vincent was the cherished son of Claudius Davis and Vinita Davis (Ehrlich). He was predeceased by his parents, grandchild Zachariah, and great-grandchild Emersyn.
Vincent shared a remarkable bond with his high school sweetheart, Sharon Ann Wright, whom he met in Great Bend. The couple married on August 30, 1957, and their union blossomed into nearly seven decades of companionship.
Together, Vincent and Sharon built a family filled with love and fond memories, raising five children: Rebecca Davis of Overland Park, Kansas; Mathew Davis of Llano, Texas; Rachel Stambaugh and husband Jay of Overland Park, Kansas; Joel Davis and wife Jewel of Larned, Kansas; and Josh Davis and wife Amy of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Vincent is also survived by his sister, Carolyn Spanier of Peoria, Illinois, and his brother, Ben Erhlich and wife Laura of Lenexa, Kansas.
Vincent spent his life in the Great Bend area, dedicating his career to various roles that showcased his hardworking spirit. He worked as an auto tech and branch manager for Sun Electric, an auto mechanic and shop foreman for Bob Reiter Chevrolet, a farmer, and an oilfield perforator for Dresser Atlas. Beyond his professional endeavors, Vincent was a man of many interests, notably enjoying fishing with his grandson Gunar and spending quality time with his family.
Those who knew Vincent will remember him as a devoted husband, a steady and guiding father, and a friend to many. His warmth, quiet strength, and unwavering dedication to his family were hallmarks of his life, endearing him to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was very proud of his children, 12 grandchildren, and 26 great grandchildren.
Vincent's life was a testament to the power of love, commitment, and family. As we say goodbye, we hold dear the memories of his gentle spirit and the impact he made on our lives.
A Graveside service will take place at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at the Great Bend Cemetery with Pastor Wyatt Davis presiding. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday September 22, 2026, with family receiving guests from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., all at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials have been designated to Goldenbelt Hospice in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS 67530.”
