Victoria Jo “Vickie” Jones, 78, of South Hutchinson, died March 28, 2026, at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis, Wichita. She was born October 15,1947, in Garden City, to John William and Johanna Katherine (Meier) Patterson, Sr.
Vickie attended Ingalls High School and Hutchinson Community College. She worked as a registered nurse for nearly 30 years. Throughout the years as a nurse, Vickie worked at Halstead Hospital, Hutchinson Correctional Facility, Hutchinson Hospital and Wesley Towers. She was very spontaneous and enjoyed impromptu shopping adventures in Wichita with her daughter. Vickie attended St. Teresa Catholic Church, Hutchinson.
On June 25, 1990, she married Robert Eugene Jones, in Miami, OK.
Vickie is survived by: husband of 35 years, Robert Jones of South Hutchinson; children, Melinda (Edward) Dudley and David (Julie) Whipple, both of Hutchinson; grandson, Grant Whipple of Lawrence; siblings, Connie (Russell) Ginest of Hutchinson, Paula (Roger) Kinkade of Red Cloud, NE, Kathy (Mel) Herschberger of Russell Springs, Johnita Patterson and Michael Patterson, both of Mahaska; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; and brothers, Charle Patterson, Patrick Patterson and John Patterson, Jr.
Parish Rosary will be 10:00 a.m., with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at St. Teresa Catholic Church, 225 E. 5th Ave, Hutchinson. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may call from Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Teresa Catholic Church, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
