Tray Lee Hodges
1992-2026

Tray Lee Hodges, 34, of Chanute, Kansas, passed away on June 18, 2026, leaving behind many who loved him. He was born on April 4, 1992, in Chanute, Kansas, to Angela Walters and the late Donald Hodges.

Tray grew up in Chanute and graduated from Chanute High School in 2010. During his school years, he excelled as an athlete and proudly became a state champion pole vaulter, an accomplishment he carried with quiet pride throughout his life. He was a hard worker, known for putting strong effort into every job to which he committed himself.

His heart was fullest when he was with his daughters. As a dad to only girls, he proudly accepted his role as the lone man in a house full of tiny bosses. Tray found peace in the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting, where he felt most at home. He also expressed a natural artistic talent, spending countless hours drawing and crafting meaningful pieces for the people he loved.

Tray is survived by his mother, Angela Walters; his stepfather, Kevin Walters; his sister, Tyrena Rogers; and his grandparents, Linda Barber, and John and Karen Walters. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends who loved him.

He leaves behind his daughters Allie, River, Murphie, and Harper, as well as his stepchildren Kohlten, Lillie, and Amber.

He will also be remembered by their mothers, Jessica Williams and Anna Short.

Tray was preceded in death by his father, Donald Hodges, and his brother, Dustin Hamilton.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at Countryside Funeral Home in Chanute from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. A private family burial will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations for the support of Tray’s children will be accepted. Checks may be made out to his mother, Angie Walters.

Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
