Sherryl Dianne Lemuz, 78, passed away January 14, 2026 at her home in Larned Kansas.

She was born November 6, 1947 in Great Bend, Kansas, the daughter of Robert Verne and Betty Lou Milhouse Twitchell.

Sherry was a lifetime area resident and a special education teacher. She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Special Education from Fort Hays State University, and was a member of the National Education Association. She was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. She was also a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was a lector, eucharistic minister, bible school teacher, and a member of the Altar Society. She was a passionate woman who carried great enthusiasm for sewing, quilting, reading, painting, gardening, cooking, and spending time in the mountains. She especially loved spending time with family, and being a grandmother.

She married Isaac Lemuz on August 13, 1966 in Larned, Kansas; he survives.

Other survivors include: four children, Anthony (Stacie) Lemuz of Larned, Paul (Jennifer) Lemuz of Canby, Oregon, Jack (Zach Lowe) Lemuz of St. Charles, Illinois, and Monica (Sean) Hoffman of Broomfield, Colorado; one sister, Rebecca (Gene) Hagerman of Goddard, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Shelby (Jacob Simmons) Lemuz of Larned, Abigail (Parker Sage) Lemuz of Huntington Beach, California, Mason (Megan Van Duinen) Hoffman of Shawnee, Kansas, Gage Lemuz of Canby, Oregon, Braydon (Whitney) Lemuz of Goddard, Kansas, Adilynn (Jack Thompson) Hoffman of Thornton, Colorado, Ainsley Lemuz, Canby, Oregon; three great grandchildren, Brooks Simmons, Locklynn Simmons, and Naomi Lemuz.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Robert Twitchell.

Funeral Mass will be 10:30am Saturday January 17,2026 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Larned, with Father Patrick Otor MSP presiding. Visitation will be 9am to 8pm Friday January 16, 2026 at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned. Burial will be in Larned Cemetery.
