Shawna K. Watkins, beloved mother, sister, and friend to all, was born July 3, 1953, in Smith Center, Kansas, passed away at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center on September 13, 2026, the daughter of John H. Ullom and Marlene J. (Farrell) Smith.
Shawna graduated from Kingman High School and received her associate degree at Hutchinson Community College. She later attended McPherson College where she received her bachelor’s degree in psychology and minored in sociology. She worked as a Domestic Violence Advocate for over 20 years.
On May 27, 1972, Shanwa married Donald E. Watkins in Kingman, KS.
Shawna was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
She is survived by her daughter, Amanda Stephenson; ex-husband, Donald E. Watkins; sisters, Robin (Stanley) Self and Kelly Deviney; brothers, Troy (Debbie) Ullom and Dalynn (Michelle) Smith; and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions are suggested to Hutchinson Public Library or Cause for Paws and can be sent in care of Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 e. 30th Ave, Hutchinson, KS 67502.
