Sandra Witt
1949-2026

Sandra Witt, 77, died April 16, 2026, in the arms of her family, at Credo Senior Living, Hoisington, Kansas, after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was born February 1, 1949, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Jack and Betty (Guernsey) Dick-Peddie.  Sandra received her bachelor’s degree in textiles and interior design. After college she worked in California as a designer to a few notable Hollywood stars.

It was later on a tennis court that she met her match, in Dr. Dan Witt, and they were married on December 27, 1985, in an underwater ceremony in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.  They shared the next 40+ years having many memorable adventures together.  Sandra had a mind for business, working alongside her husband helping him as office manager at his Central Kansas Urology practice. Sandra was known as a happy, vivacious person that with her fabulous sense of design knew how to throw a party, complete with signature drinks and her amazing fancy cooking skills. A “party planner extraordinaire”, you always knew if she was the party planner of an event, it would be something to remember. Her other talents included her fierce card skills, and she was a life master bridge player. She enjoyed her time with many dear friends in her local weekly bridge club, but really excelled in competing competitively all over the country. Her love for her community was apparent in her involvement, especially holding dear to her the local schools, hospital, and Cheyenne Bottoms.

Survivors include; her husband, Dr. Dan Witt of the home; stepdaughters, Beth Clark and Danese Witt McGill; sister, Debbie Boyd, and a host of many beloved family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepson, Jonathan D. Witt; and first husband, Bill Miller.

Per Sandra’s wishes cremation has taken place, and come-and-go celebration of life will be held at The Witt’s Party House, 350 W. 9th St., Hoisington, KS 67544, Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the J.D. Witt Scholarship Fund with Clara Barton Hospital Foundation or the Wetlands Education Center of Cheyenne Bottoms, in care of Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, PO Box 146, Hoisington, KS 67544.
