Roberta Ann Stewart passed away on Monday August 31, 2026, at Brookdale College Square Assisted Living. She was born on December 15, 1943, in Neodesha, Kansas.

Ann was a graduate of Fredonia High School, Class of 1961. She attended Pittsburg State University for three years and completed her education at the University of Kansas, where she earned her Registered Nurse degree. Her education prepared her for a long and meaningful career marked by dedication and service.

For more than 40 years, Ann worked as a registered nurse at KU Medical Center and Saint Luke’s. Nursing was not simply her profession, but a calling she embraced with steadfast commitment throughout her life. Ann loved to work, and that strong work ethic was evident in the many years she devoted to caring for others. She was also a member of the KU Alumni Association, maintaining her connection to the university that helped shape her professional life.

She was preceded in death by her father, George Stewart Sr.; her mother, Vesta Henderson Stewart; and her sister, Carolyn Stewart.

Roberta is survived by her siblings, George Stewart, Harry Stewart, and Mary Stewart. Ann is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. They, along with those who knew and cared for her, will remember her for her years of service, her devotion to her work, and the steady presence she brought to the lives around her.

Her life was one of commitment, compassion, and quiet strength, and her memory will be held with love by her family and all who knew her.

Cremation has taken place, with a private family burial planned for a later date.
