Rita Mae (Dold) PeitzKingman, KS

Rita Mae Peitz, 91, went home to her Lord on May 8, 2026 at The Wheatland Place in Kingman, KS. Rita was born December 5, 1934 to Mathias & Wilhemenia Dold (Bergkamp) in Colwich, KS.

On November 17, 1956 she married Robert Peitz. Rita was a devout catholic and a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Altar Society & Daughters of Isabella. She played the organ for many years and lovingly looked after the church.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; brothers, Melvin, Cletus, Alfred, Anthony, LaVern & David; sisters, Marilyn Stump, Margaret Weber & Teresa Stuhlsatz; four grandchildren, Nick Scheer, Cassidy Capansky, Andrew Mertens & Rebecca Shilling.

Survived by her children, Kathy (Gregg) Scheer, Patsy (Terry) Lannon, Jean (Joseph) Enterkin, Rose (Ed) Schilling, Ron (Tonya) Peitz, Ken (Shirlene) Peitz, Jerry (Shari) Peitz; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; with a blessing on the way this summer.

Visitation will be 5:00P-7:00P on Monday, May 11, 2026 at Wulf-Ast Mortuary, 911 Biermann Street, Garden Plain 67050. A rosary will be said at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 4813 NE 150 Avenue, Cheney 67025. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 AM. Interment will take place after Mass in the St. Rose Cemetery.

In Lieu of Flowers, memorials are suggested to the St. Rose of Lima Building Fund.
