Raymond Lee Unruh, age 84, of Moundridge, Kansas, formerly of Bradley, Arkansas, died Saturday, March 21, 2026, at NMCHealth in Newton, Kansas. He was born on June 9, 1941, in Cement, Oklahoma, the son of Clarence S. and Lula (Koehn) Unruh.
Raymond attended Freeman School in Cement, Oklahoma. He was a laborer, working in construction and farming. Raymond loved carpentry and woodworking. He found joy in fixing things for others, free of charge. He was a member of Pleasant Valley Church of God in Christ, Mennonite Church in Bradley, Arkansas.
Raymond was united in marriage to Ethelene Schmidt on September 13, 1961, in Chickasha, Oklahoma. They shared 64 years of marriage.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Ethelene of Moundridge; children, Les Unruh and his wife, Tonya of Doddridge, Arkansas, and Michelene Rhodes and her husband, Mike of Durham, Kansas; four brothers; two sisters; sixteen grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Matthew Unruh; two sisters; and one brother.
Family will greet friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Morning Star Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, 3403 Falcon Rd., Tampa, Kansas, 67483. Moundridge Funeral Home, Moundridge, Kansas is handling Kansas arrangements.
A second visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Pleasant Valley Church of God in Christ, Mennonite Church, 3655 Hwy 360, Bradley, Arkansas 71826. A.O. Smith Funeral Homes, Thomas Street Chapel is handling Arkansas arrangements.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 27, 2026, at the Pleasant Valley Mennonite Church in Bradley, AR. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
The family suggests memorial contributions made to Pleasant Valley Mennonite Church and sent in care of Kendall Seiler, 11616 Hwy 160, Doddridge, AR. 71834.
