Peter James Hiebert, 67, died March 30, 2026, at his home. He was born April 5, 1958, in Hutchinson, to Peter and Birddella May (Southworth) Hiebert.
Peter graduated from Nickerson High School, in 1976. He worked in concrete and construction for HIEB & Associates, Richardson Brothers Construction, and Liberty Homes. His ultimate job though was working at Stutzmans Greenhouse.
Peter was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and K-State Wildcat fan. He loved pizza, flowers (especially petunias), and gardening. Faith was extremely important to Peter. He was baptized at Partridge Community Church, where he also sang in the church choir.
On June 26, 1985, he married Lesley Jean Green, in Hutchinson. She died October 2008, after they shared 23 years of marriage.
Peter is survived by: sons, Steven Hiebert of Hutchinson and Cameron Hiebert of Lima, OH; granddaughter, Amelia Edwards of Wichita; brother, Dwain Hiebert of Nickerson; sisters, Patricia Woodruff of South Hutchinson and Priscila Franz (Pete) of Hutchinson; sister-in-law, Sandy Guerrero (Gary) of Hutchinson; and numerous loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; in-laws, Leslie and Pauline Emmajean “Jeanne” Green; and brother-in-law, John Woodruff.
Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Partridge Cemetery, with his niece, Sister Michelle Woodruff officiating.
