Paul worked at Sunset Pawn Shop in Hutchinson where he acquired the passion for older style guns.  He remodeled rental homes with Scott’s Property Maintenance, which he truly enjoyed. Paul worked in construction for many years. He enjoyed operating the large crane. Paul was a people person who loved to help those around him. He enjoyed creating beautiful works of art with just a simple pencil or an array of paints. Above all, Paul adored his family and loved music. He was a passionate drummer and guitarist who frequently mentored others.
Paul is survived by: mother, Catherine Sims; brother, Ryan Sims; nephew and niece, Casey and Madison Roberts; aunts, Marty (Rick) Kenyon and Laura Noyes; uncles, John Hostutler, Marc Hostutler, and Mike (Susie) Sims; cousins, Kendra Stevens, Taylor Kenyon, Justin Kenyon, Amanda Rigg, Julie (Jeff) Westall, Jennifer (Willy) Wymer, Heather Hostutler, Taylor (RJ) Vanlerberg, Andrew (Jessica) Noyes, and Ashley Noyes.
He was preceded in death by his: father, Patrick Sims; sister, Angela Roberts; and aunt, Kim Stevens.
Cremation has taken place.
Parish Rosary will be 10 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Church of the Holy Cross, 2631 Independence Rd., Hutchinson with Father Jerome Spexarth officiating. Inurnment will follow at 2 p.m. in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may call Tuesday, February 10, 2026, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Hutchinson High School to support the Band, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main Hutchinson, KS 67501.
