In loving memory of Nathanal “Nate” Brown, 55, of Lyons, Kansas, who passed away on January 21, 2026, at Hospital District #1 of Rice County, Lyons. He was born November 23, 1970, in Grand Junction, Colorado, the son of Leon and Betsy (Bettcher) Brown. Nate has resided in Lyons for the past six years, formerly of Williston, North Dakota. He graduated from Grand Junction High School, with the class of 1990. Nate worked in the oil field in North Dakota, was a professional mover, tree trimmer, and jack of all trades. He attended the Southern Baptist Church. Nate enjoyed fishing, hunting, guns, listening to music and playing with his pitbull, Houdini. Nate is survived by his fiancé, Kate Carlson of Lyons, KS; six beautiful children, Laura Rosado-McCleery (Joseph) of Colorado Springs, CO, Tyesha Brown, Jerrome Brown (Rebecca) of Colorado Springs, CO, Tiffanie Brown, Quentin Brown of McCook, NE, and Neveah Brown of Williston, ND; two brothers, John Henry Brown of Tempe, AZ, and Leon Brown of Little Rock, AR; and nine grandchildren, Anthony, Joesiah, Allayah, Nadia, Sckyla, Calina, Delilah, Mateo, and Jataviona. Nate is preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Betsy Brown; and sister, Zola Bettcher. Private family burial will be at Bridgewater Cemetery, Bridgewater, South Dakota at a later date. Memorials may be given to Friends of Animals Rice County in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
