Nancy Faye (Anderson) Underwood
1939-2026

Nancy Faye Underwood, age 87, of Andale, Ks passed away on May 9, 2026 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on January 29, 1939, in Pampa, Texas, to Carroll Wayne and Reva Anderson. Nancy married the love of her life, Than “Woody” Underwood, and together they built a remarkable life filled with adventure, faith, and family.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Woody; her sons Troy, Todd, Trent, and Tim; her sister Carol; her brothers Mark, Chris, and Dave; her grandsons Troy and Tyler; and her daughter-in-law Tabby.

She is survived by her sons Thad (Cindy) Underwood and Than (Ewa) Underwood; daughter Faith Underwood and daughter-in-law Vanessa Underwood; her grandchildren Audrey (Michael) Bauer, Kris (Amanda) Pittman, Emily Petrich, Ashley (Ed) Flanagan, Amber (Joe) Kruse, Amanda Underwood, Zach Underwood, Travis (Brandie) Underwood, Trevor Underwood, Tessa (Riley Deckard) Underwood, Joe Underwood, Erin Underwood, Tucker Underwood and Michael Underwood; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Nancy lived a life of extraordinary adventure and dedication. She earned her pilot’s license, completed over 400 skydives as a licensed skydiving instructor, and even drove a race car. She had a deep love for travel, spending time living abroad and exploring foreign countries. A talented artist, she enjoyed drawing and was an avid reader. Her Catholic faith was central to her life; she was actively involved in her church and volunteered at The Lord’s Diner. Nancy cherished her farm and found great joy in the land and animals there.

A devoted mother and professional, Nancy returned to school while raising six young children to earn her nursing degree. She went on to serve as an ICU nurse for more than 30 years, touching countless lives with her compassion and skill.

Her adventurous spirit, unwavering faith, and boundless love for her family will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her. Nancy’s legacy lives on through the many generations she inspired.

Rosary will be held on May 13, 2026 at St. Joseph Church at 10:00 am and Funeral Mass at 10:30 am.  318 Rush St Andale, Ks.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to The Lord’s Diner.

Rest in peace, Nancy. You will be deeply missed.
