Michelle Renee DemelHoisington, KS

Michelle Renee Demel, died May 21, 2026, at Clara Barton Hospital ER, Hoisington, Kansas.  She was born February 4, 1965, in Porterville, California, the daughter of Michael and Joyce (Burns) Romeri.  Michelle worked as a med aide in nursing facilities for many years.

She married Mickie McAuliffe, they later divorced. On January 30, 2009, she married Dale A. Demel in Great Bend, Kansas.

Michelle had a giving heart and would do anything for anybody.  She loved her family and her dogs and was known as an extraordinary cook. Believing that a clean home was essential she made sure everything was in its place and shoes were always left at the door. Time spent with family and friends at the lake and trips to Mexico, Costa Rica, and her beloved beaches in California were definitely the highlights of her life.

She is survived by her husband Dale Demel of the home; son, Christopher Jensen of Hoisington; daughter, Robin Pierce of Great Bend; stepchildren, Anthony Demel (Skye) of Wilson, Ryan Demel of Bison, Sean Demel of Newton, and Nikki Demel (Craig Kober) of Great Bend; father, Mike Romeri, Sr. of Claflin; brothers, Mike Romeri of Tehachapi, California, Chris Romeri (Michelle) of Kimberly, Idaho; a sister, Lisa Nahas (Sam) of Palm Desert, California; nine grandchildren, Madallyn Jensen, Matthew Pierce, Kyler Jensen, Ryder Romeri-Hood, Erich Demel, Clara Demel, Brynlee Demel, Colt Kober and Nora Kober; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother and first husband Mickie McAuliffe.

Per Michelle’s wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place on 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 29th, 2026, at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, with Pastor Don Fisher presiding. Friends may sign the book now until services.
