Melody Ann (Gleason) Adams
1965-2026

Melody Ann Adams, 60, of Lyons, Kansas, passed away January 24, 2026, at her home. She was born July 29, 1965, in Redwood City, California, the daughter of Linsey and Melba (Oswald) Gleason. Melody was a lifelong Lyons resident. She graduated from Lyons High School, with the class of 1984. Melody worked as the activity director at Good Samaritan Society, Lyons for ten years. She then worked as a para for eight years at Lyons Middle and High School and twelve years as a media aide at Lyons High School. Melody attended First Baptist Church, Lyons. She was a member of PEO Lyons and Coffee Sippers. Melody was an avid reader and enjoyed shopping. She was a published author of “The Life After the End.” Melody was a volunteer at Beauties and Beasts Animal Shelter in Wichita. On June 10, 2000, Melody was united in marriage with Curtis Adams at the First Presbyterian Church, Lyons. Melody is survived by her parents, Linsey and Melba Gleason of Lyons, KS; husband, Curtis Adams of Lyons, KS; two sons, Joey Adams and Matthew Adams both of Lyons, KS; sister, DeeDee Gleason of Lyons, KS; niece and nephew, Amberlee Gleason and Jacob Whitebird (Alicia); great-nieces and nephews, Zoey Gleason, Bently Whitebird, Lakin Whitebird, Fraya Whitebird, and Luka Whitebird; brother-in-law, Johnny Adams and wife Monica; sister-in-law, Rena McKenna and husband Jerry; nieces and nephews-in-law, Kris Adams (Rae), Chandra Keitmann (Daniel), Andy Adams, Tim Adams, Megan McKenna, and Justin McKenna; great-nieces and nephews-in-law, Kameron, Julie, Lacey, Michaela, and Jaxon; and her fur babies, Gary, Opie, Luna, Scruffy, Bobbi, and Annie. Melody is preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, John and Vera Adams; and uncle-in-law, Harry Adams.  Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M., Monday, February 2, 2026, at First Baptist Church, Lyons, with Pastor Joel Grizzle officiating. Melody requests that you wear casual attire to the service. Burial will follow at the Lyons Municipal Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Friends of Animals Rice County and Beauties and Beast, Wichita in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons. The Adams family would like to express their appreciation to their family and the community for the love, prayers, and support over the past two years.
