Mary Ann May
1942-2026

Mary Ann (Henson) May, passed away on Friday May 15, 2026, at Wesley Medical Center. Born on August 18, 1942, in Fredonia, Kansas, Mary Ann lived a life marked by dedication, warmth, and quiet strength.

A shining example of academic excellence and community spirit, Mary Ann was the valedictorian of her graduating class at Toronto High School in 1960. Her intellect and determination paved the way for a fulfilling career spanning 18 years at the Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Wichita, Kansas, where she diligently served in the payroll department. Her family and friends will remember her as a very kind and well-liked lady.

Family was central to Mary Ann’s life. She delighted in spending time with her sons—David Fey of Wichita, Kansas; Russell Fey of Toronto, Kansas; and William Fey of Toronto, Kansas—and cherished her grandchildren, Chance Fey, Jacob Wendel, and Paxton Fey. Her affection extended beautifully to her great-grandchildren, three great grandsons and three great granddaughters, who brought her immense joy. Mary Ann's husband, Jerry May, and step-sons Scott May and Rod May, along with her parents George and Margaret (Cox) Henson, preceded her in death.

In her leisure, Mary Ann found comfort and interest in following the news, especially political developments, demonstrating her continued engagement with the world around her. She also possessed a tender love for gardening, finding peace and satisfaction amidst her plants and flowers.

Mary Ann May's legacy is one of kindness, commitment, and grace. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who had the honor of knowing her. Her life serves as a testament to the impact a gentle spirit can have on those fortunate enough to cross paths with her.

Graveside Services will be held at Carlisle Cemetery, 198 Fall River Road, Toronto Kansas 66777 on Thursday May 28, 2026, at 11:00 am.
