Marsha Lynn Pachuta, 70, died March 21, 2026, at HaysMed, Hays, Kansas. She was born April 30, 1955, in Columbus, Ohio.
In the early 80’s she met Michael Kallal and they spent 40 years together. They loved their time together tending their garden and keeping care of their home. He preceded her in death.
Marsha recently moved to Hoisington from Wichita, where she retired from the Rollings Hills Country Club as the bar manager after 35 years. Her family described her as a hard-working woman, that loved her family. In her off time she loved reading books and was an avid animal lover. She also loved her family roots in Ohio and loved to visit when she could.
She is survived by her stepsons, Eric Schneider and wife Susan of Hoisington, Chris Kallal and wife Tish of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Jason Kallal of Montana; grandchildren, Michael Schneider of Hoisington, and Casey Schneider and companion Courtney of Russell, Christopher and Joshua Kallal of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Tavanna Kallal of California; three great grandchildren, Lily, Josie, and Hailey; a brother, Bernard “Bernie” Smith and companion Sharon of Dandridge, Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret (Stiffler) Smith, and stepfather, Barney Smith; and an infant brother, Gordon Smith.
Memorial service will be 4:30 p.m., Monday, 30, 2026, at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, with Pastor Don Fisher presiding.
