Marie Susan Orth, 95, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at Pleasant View in Inman, KS.
Marie was born at her parent’s farm in Walker, Kansas on November 10, 1930, the daughter of Catherine Marie (Bellinder) and Edward J. Brungardt.
Marie attended Walker Grade School, in Walker, KS.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church McPherson, KS.
Through the years Marie worked as a waitress for various restaurants and later became owner operator with her husband of Frank’s Appliances.
Marie enjoyed her family, dancing, sewing, babysitting was always special, making things for her family like baby dolls and other items, was always ready to help, family, friends, and neighbors at a drop of a hat.
Marie was united in marriage to Francis Frank Orth, Jr. on October 20, 1948 at Sacred Heart, Emmeram, Kansas. The young couple established their first home together, in Hays, Kansas. They were blessed with the birth of three children, Paul, David and Mary Lou.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Frank Orth, of Inman; her children, Paul Orth (Paula), David Orth (Debbie), and Mary Lou Cranford (Carl), all of McPherson; sister, Teckla Baker of Hays; she is also survived by her 8 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Laura Podsednik; and three brothers, Vitus, LeRoy and Hubert Brungardt; and a grandson, Jason Orth.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2026 from 5:00pm-6:00pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church, McPherson, KS with Rosary at 6:00pm.
Memorial service will be held on Monday, February 23, 2026 at 10:00am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, McPherson, KS, with Fr. Michael Kerschen officiating.
Burial will be held at McPherson Cemetery McPherson, KS.
