1948-2026
In Hutchinson, KS on April 15, 1948, Cecil T. Rogers and Virgie Marie Hayes gave birth to their beloved daughter, Margaret (Peg) Sue Rogers. Peg grew up in Castleton, KS where she attended elementary school. She attended high school in Pretty Prairie, and after graduating from Pretty Prairie High School, she furthered her education at Hutchinson Community College and Patricia Stevens Cosmetology School for her passion in beauty. Peg was later employed by Pretty Prairie High School as a kitchen aide and was also the cheerleading sponsor during that time.
On March 14, 1970, Peg married her high school sweetheart, Ken Krehbiel and devoted her life to being a homemaker and caring for her family. She poured her heart and soul into her grandchildren, babysitting them along with many other children in the community, loving each one as her own.
She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior at a young age and loved the Lord fervently until the end.
On Wednesday, January 28, 2026, Peg, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, went home to be with the Lord. She lived a life marked by deep faith, unconditional love, and an unwavering devotion to her family.
Rooted firmly in Christ, her life reflected the love of Jesus in the way she cared for others. Peg loved to sew, cook, bake, garden, watch movies, and sing. She had a special gift for turning everyday moments into songs, filling life with music, laughter, and love. She brought joy and purpose into the simplest of moments, making even the ordinary days unforgettable. Whether baking in the kitchen, singing throughout the house, or serving others at church, she put her whole heart into all she did.
Above all, she was a constant source of support and encouragement to those she loved, faithfully present in every moment. Her love was steady, and her presence was a true blessing to all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, kindness, and a love that will continue to live on through her family. While she will be deeply missed, her loved ones find peace and comfort in knowing she is now rejoicing in heaven and singing with the angel choir. They look forward to the day they will see her again.
Peg was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Tom Rogers.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Krehbiel; her children, Jason Krehbiel (Lori) of Plevna, KS, and Shannon Self (Jason) of Hutchinson, KS; her grandchildren, Owen Krehbiel of Hutchinson, KS, Ellissa Becker (Dylan) of Kansas City, MO, Trevor Stringfellow of Hutchinson, KS, Addison Krehbiel of Wichita, KS, Nick Self (Patience) of Wichita, KS, and Cooper Self of Parkville, MO; her brother, Richard (Dick) Rogers (Rita) of San Diego, CA; honorary grandchildren, Emily Wolfe (Adam) of El Dorado, KS, Ethan Moore (Libby) of Hutchinson, KS, and Eric Moore (Maia) of Newport News, VA; two great-granddaughters, and many others who lovingly referred to her as “mom” or “Gram”.
