Lucinda “Cindy” Coletta Smith, 73, of Hutchinson, passed away January 9, 2026, at her home. She was born March 19, 1952, in Wichita, Kansas, to Norman and Dorothy (Walls) Bekemeyer.
On April 5, 1975, Cindy married Richard Smith, in Wichita. They shared 43 years of marriage before his death on June 29, 2018.
Cindy loved spending time with her daughter and grandchildren. She enjoyed being outdoors and walking her beloved canine companion, Ralph.
Cindy graduated from Wichita State University with an associate’s degree in Journalism. She had a passion for helping those around her and worked as a receptionist at Senior Center at Elmdale Park.
Cindy is survived by her: daughter, Tobin Smith; cherished grandchildren, Alasondra Pina, Dorian Smith, and Alyssa Pina, all from Hutchinson.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Richard Smith; and infant son, Derek Smith.
Cremation has taken place and no services are planned.
