Linda Delores Zerger, 91, died February 21, 2026, at The Arbors at Waldron Place, Hutchinson. She was the youngest of seven children born to Reinhold J. “Ray” and Emilia K. (Fischer) Borth, on December 27, 1934, in Turkey Creek Township, McPherson County.
Linda graduated from Castleton High School in 1952. She worked for the United States Postal Service as a rural postal carrier for many years. Linda also worked hand in hand with her husband on their farm in rural southwest Reno County. She loved to spend time in her large garden and tending to her iris’. Linda was a great cook and canned many of the vegetables she grew in her garden. She also looked forward to attending the Kansas State Fair every year with her husband. Linda was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hutchinson.
On November 8, 1955, she married Victor Gene “Vic” Zerger, in Hutchinson. They shared over 60 years of marriage prior to his death on October 24, 2016.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Pam (Jim) Chastain of South Hutchinson as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Vic Zerger; siblings, Olga Unruh, Ben Borth, Frieda Robinett, Al Borth, Edward Borth, and Alice Blew.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 27, 2026, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 407 E. 12th, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
