Linda D. Gingerich
1948-2026

Linda D. Gingerich, 77, of Haven, Kansas, passed away Monday, March 2, 2026 at the Newton Medical Center. She was born on July 21, 1948 in Guymon, Oklahoma to John and Wanda (Canada) Kauffman.

She graduated from Guymon High School and later graduated from Hesston College with her associates degree.

Linda was united in marriage to Elwin D. Gingerich on June 2, 1969 at Hesston Mennonite Church. He survives after 56 years of marriage.

She worked as a childcare provider and as a cook for 25 years in the USD 312 school district.

Linda was a member of the Yoder Mennonite Church.

She was an Oklahoma Sooners fan. Linda was a huge supporter of her grandkids and went to all of their games.

She is survived by her husband, Elwin Gingerich of Haven; sons, Chris Gingerich (Melinda) of Hutchinson; Jeremy Gingerich of Haven, and Brad Gingerich (Bridget) of Haven; six grandchildren; and one brother, Roger Kauffamn (Carolee) of Arizona.

Linda was preceded in death by her father, John Kauffman; mother, Wanda Coward; and stepfather, Jess Coward.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, March 9, 2026 at Ott Funeral Home, Haven. Burial will follow at Yoder Mennonite Cemetery, rural Haven. Family will greet friends from 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, March 8, at the funeral home.
